NEMMA ESTATES TRAINING SCHOOL
A fresh start for school leavers and young people seeking work — building confidence, motivation and practical skills through thoughtful, high-standard hospitality training.

STARTING WITH POTENTIAL
Our purpose is to help young people start from the beginning: learning how to look after themselves, work well with others and take pride in doing a job properly. We welcome interest from school leavers, young people who are unemployed and those looking for a clear direction into working life.
Built on our founder’s 40+ years of personal experience in hospitality, catering, customer service and business management, the school brings practical learning together with high expectations, encouragement and respect.
THE FOUNDATIONS THAT MATTER
Planning your day, timekeeping, personal responsibility, practical problem-solving and dependable everyday routines.
Confidence, communication, listening, personal presentation, courtesy and respect for people from different backgrounds.
Setting goals, building good habits, taking ownership, responding to feedback and finding the determination to improve.
Cooperation, supporting colleagues, shared responsibility and learning how positive leadership brings out the best in others.
Attention to detail, consistency, professional conduct, safe working practices and pride in delivering work to a high standard.
A warm welcome, guest care, discretion, service etiquette and understanding what makes someone feel properly looked after.
Supervised learning across kitchens, food service, housekeeping, reception, concierge, events and the everyday running of a hotel.
Recognising progress, preparing for interviews, understanding workplace expectations and identifying the right next step.
IN THE TRAINING KITCHEN
From preparing ingredients and learning cooking techniques to keeping workspaces clean, trainees practise the routines, teamwork and attention to detail that underpin a professional kitchen.

LEARNING BY DOING
Develop confidence, routines, communication and an understanding of professional behaviour.
Learn through demonstrations, supervised tasks, departmental experience and constructive feedback.
Review skills and progress, then explore suitable employment, apprenticeships or further training.
Learning is structured around clear expectations, supervision and regular feedback. Progress comes from understanding a standard, practising it and learning to deliver it consistently.

HOUSEKEEPING & PRESENTATION
Learning to make a bed properly is part of a wider standard of care. Trainees practise linen handling, room presentation and the small details that make a guest feel comfortable and welcome.
RECEPTION & GUEST CARE
With guidance from an experienced colleague, young receptionists learn to check in guests, handle reservations and communicate clearly — combining practical systems knowledge with courtesy and discretion.

A SURE LIFE · OPPORTUNITY THROUGH EDUCATION
The Training School connects our hospitality experience with our wider commitment to A Sure Life: helping people develop confidence, independence and the practical foundations for a fulfilling life.
We seek partnerships with schools, colleges, Jobcentre Plus, local authorities and approved training providers to connect young people with appropriate training and employment routes. Government funding and funded places are explored where the programme and learner meet the relevant requirements.
Course locations, intake dates, age eligibility, qualifications, placement arrangements and any funded routes are confirmed before enrolment. Partnerships and funding are announced only when agreed.
LEARNERS, FAMILIES & PARTNERS
Whether you are a young person exploring your future, a parent or carer, an employment adviser, a school, a college or a potential training partner, explore our approach and the opportunities we are building together.
Employment, qualifications and funded places are subject to the terms of the individual programme.
